GENERAL SUMMARY: Reporting to the Access/Referral Management Supervisor or Manager, the Referral Coordinator I is responsible for efficiently processing referrals, scheduling specialist appointments, and ensuring seamless coordination of patient care. This role involves leveraging various technologies and workflows while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to maintain optimal service delivery. Exhibits strong judgment, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and effective referral processing, and fostering positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Associate degree preferred.
Two (2) years of experience in registration and appointment scheduling in a healthcare setting.
One (1) year of experience in clinic appointment scheduling and working with electronic medical records (EMR), particularly EPIC.
Customer service experience, with demonstrated professionalism in handling patient and provider interactions preferred.
Previous experience working directly with providers is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong working knowledge of EPIC or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
