Job Title: Mainframe Systems Engineer
Job Location: Dallas, TX.
Job Type: Contract

Mainframe Consultant with deep expertise in Control-M for z/OS, covering both infrastructure setup and batch job scheduling. This dual-role position requires hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining Control-M environments, as well as designing and managing complex batch schedules using JCL.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Control-M Infrastructure Support:

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Control-M for z/OS
Integrate with RACF, JES2/JES3, and other mainframe subsystems
Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and security compliance
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis

🔹 Control-M Scheduling & Operations:

Design and implement batch job schedules using JCL
Manage job dependencies, calendars, and critical path workflows
Monitor and resolve job failures (abends), optimize batch performance
Collaborate with application teams to align scheduling with business SLAs

Required Skills & Experience:

7+ years of experience in Mainframe z/OS environments
5+ years of hands-on experience with Control-M (BMC) – infrastructure and scheduling
Strong knowledge of JCL, RACF, JES2/JES3, and mainframe utilities
Experience in incident management, change control, and batch optimization
Excellent communication and documentation skills
